Assisted Stretching in London

You can stretch on your own. You cannot get out of your own way on your own.

Assisted Stretching session in London

Why assisted works better

When you stretch yourself, the muscle you are trying to lengthen is often the one doing the work of holding you there. A second pair of hands takes that job away, so the tissue can finally let go.

It is also honest feedback. Most people are not as stuck as they think in the places they focus on, and much more stuck somewhere they never look.

What we work on

Hips and hamstrings, thoracic spine and shoulders, ankles. If you want the front splits, that is a specific programme and it is very achievable with a few minutes a day between sessions.

What you leave with

Two or three positions to hold at home, written down, that are yours and not a generic list. Sessions are worth much more when they are held between visits.

Stretch therapy and mobility coaching in London

People search for this under a few different names. Stretch therapy in London, assisted stretching, or a mobility coach: in practice they describe the same session, which is a trained pair of hands taking a joint through range you cannot reach on your own.

If you have been sent here by a physio who has finished with you but you are still stiff, this is usually the gap they are pointing at.

Questions

The things people ask first

How flexible do I need to be?

Not at all. The people who get the most from this are the ones who cannot touch their toes.

Is it painful?

It should feel like a strong stretch, never a sharp one. Sharp means stop, and I watch for it.

Can I add it to a massage?

Yes, a ninety minute session with both is the most popular booking I take.
